Enabling Informed Choices from Factory to Fashion - Ask a DetoXpert

Textile Sustainability #DETOX #SDG6 #SDG12 #giz

With Global Environmental NGO Greenpeace and China’s IPE’s emphasis on minimising the toxic discharge from wet-processing (dyeing / printing / washing / tanning) factories and responsible production practices to protect the environment and workers, industry associations such as SAC, ZDHC, AMFORI and Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (PST) have established guidelines for responsible resource efficiency during manufacturing.

To be recognised for these efforts, a Green Button eco-label may be rewarded accordingly – which we strongly believe will help assure stakeholders in the textile industry and also consumers that international guidelines for responsible manufacturing are been adhered to.

In cooperation with GIZ and Green Button, we will be sharing with you

  1. DETOX, Sustainable Chemical Management, Status-quo
  2. Informed Choice Matrix : A Framework for Effective Wastewater Treatment
  3. Capacity Development Programs by GIZ : FABRIC, STILE, eTex
  4. Pre-requisite for Green Button label
