PANGEO AUSTRIA takes place every two years as a showcase of Austrian geoscientific research. Specifically young scientists and students will be given the opportunity to present their findings. The congress took place in Salzburg (2002), Graz (2004), Innsbruck (2006), Vienna (2008) and Leoben (2010). PANGEO AUSTRIA 2012 is held again in Salzburg. The general theme of "Earth Science - Fundamentals and Application" can expect a wide range of professional lectures and poster presentations. The importance of regional geological aspects is further emphasized by field trips.
