The first conference of the Nordic Prosody series took place in Lund in 1978 organised by Eva Gårding, Gösta Bruce and Robert Bannert. Since then the conferences of this series have been organised three more times in Sweden, three times in Finland, twice in Norway, and once in Denmark. This is the first time that a Nordic Prosody conference will take place in Estonia.

The XIth Nordic Prosody conference will be held at the University of Tartu from 15 to 17 August 2012.
