The conference will provide participants with an analysis of recent developments in European environmental law, including the European Court of Justice's recent case law in the field.
A substantial part of the conference will be devoted to the European Union’s challenges of energy security and dependency in the framework of climate change, especially in terms of renewable energy, bio-fuels, eco-energy efficiency, energy saving, and the reform of the ETS system. The results and follow-up of the United Nations climate change conference of December 2009 will be presented.
More specifically, the following topics of Community policy in the field of environment protection will be examined:
- Waste management and bio-waste
- Soil protection
- Environmental taxation
- Green public procurement
- Industrial emissions and air quality
- Chemicals
- Nature conservation
