CLECAT's annual Freight Forwarder Conference will take place on the 3rd December 2009 at the World Customs Organisation headquarters in Brussels.
This year’s themes are in line with the most recent policy topics that are debated in the EU for our sector; the first part will cover the role of technology and ICT in logistics, addressing themes such as: is ITC driven by policy or customers? Will technology mean more freight forwarding/logistics services or less?
The second session will look at Customs; in particular it will address the issues of security and facilitation and the result of this convergence of what seems, at first glance, contradictory processes. Are paperless Customs enabling or disabling, a tool or a burden? A related theme will be a look at the WCO Data Model and the Single Window concept in the EU perspective.
